Oh Motivation, Where Art Thou?

Håller fan på att klappa ihop av alla måsten just nu. Betygen ska sättas nästa fredag och fortfarande har jag inte hunnit rätta undan allt. Dessutom blir det merjobb eftersom jag ska ha vikarie på fredag då jag åker till Irland. Vikarie för en lärare betyder ofta mer jobb... du ska kopiera upp material, skriva instruktioner, fixa klasslistor etc. På vilket annat jobb får du jobba mer när du ska vara ledig? Eller om man är sjuk... nu har jag bara en enda sjukdag under hela min lååånga karriär, men den gången ringde de hem och bad mig instruera vikarien, vad hon skulle göra, var material fanns, var hon skulle vara, vilka klasser och så vidare. Helt sjukt!

Ikväll ska jag och Marica gå på Ki Box igen och den här gången ska det väl gå bättre än sist. Inga potentiella svimningsanfall i dag. Har ätit ordentligt och faktiskt tränat några gånger sen sist. ;-) Jättekul att boxas... kan man passa på att "hämnas" lite på alla dryga personer som man retat upp sig på. Haha... i och för sig retar jag mig just inte på någon, men man kan ju tänka på gamla oförätter... :-D

I was meaning to either a) tidy the rest of my place and decorate it or b) correct some essays and grade the pupils work. But instead I started listening to Josh Grobans new album... and found myself stuck in the sofa, listening, getting kind of sad and lonely. Now, I find it hard to bring myself together to do anything useful. I'd just like to hide under the duvet and sleep... don't like the cold, don't like the darkness, don't like living alone...

Hmm... bad for my health? Never thought of it that way before... haha...

Anyway... my muscles are aching so much I won't be able to do anything of the sort right now. Today I'm going swimming with Anna-Karin. We'll probably head for the sauna as well... ;-) Must be good for my poor aching body...

It's not good taking showers alone...

...there's places you can't reach on your own.

Well... then I've got these three options:

• Stop showering
  
• Buy myself a better shower brush
  
• Kidnap a sweet guy who can help me out or convince A to come over whenever I feel like showering.

Personally I must say I like the third alternative the best... Any other suggestions, you people out there? :)

The Pain...The Pain...

...the horror, the horror!

My sis Marica and I went Ki Boxing yesterday. It was so much fun... however, after eating just one sandwhich during the day, and drinking only one glass of water AND after not having exercised for the last... let me think... hmm.... ah... a couple or moths or more (probably six months), it was quite exhausting.

After about 40 or 50 minutes I started seeing black spots in front of my eyes, I was a little dizzy and my hearing was gone...almost anyway, it was like I heard my sis through a thick wall or something. I've never fainted before, but I guess that this was the closest I will come to fainting. I had to leave... had to get out of there and drink some water, wash my face in cold water... I even had to lie down on the bathroom floor for a while, just trying to get back to the real world again.

Marica bought me an apple and while I lay down eating it, she was jumping up and down, having all this extra energy left... really felt like the bad guy who ruins it for everyone else. But we're going there on Wednesday again. Hope I'm in better shape by then... ;-)

Take the First Step in Faith...

One of my students said something to me today... something that made me think... Why be scared? Why hesitate? Why not take the chance while it's still there? He said:

"You don't have to see the whole staircase,
just take the first step"

It's probably a quote from someone, somewhere, but it was still a great advice.... ha... what we were talking about? Well kidnapping people (actually one person) from another country and force them (him) to spend Christmas with you... ;-)

Well, I don't think it'll go that far... but still... I liked the quote...

A Nice Christmassy Feeling...

Finally... at last... to my satisfaction... my Christmas spirit has awakened! After I finished all the action plans I somehow got all this extra energy, I did the laundry and I've corrected about 94 English tests (Marica helped me with three or four) and today I'm planning on tidying my apartment and decorate it, 'cause next weekend is Advent Sunday and I would like it to look nice when I come home from Dublin.

I just love buying Christmas presents (and of course getting them ;p), listen to and sing Christmas carols, drink "glögg", spend time with my family and friends... Sometimes though, I wish I had that special someone in my life, close to me, sharing all of this... nåja, den som väntar på något gott väntar aldrig för länge!

Spoilt Rotten at Högbo Brukshotell...

On Friday the 17th of November the whole school entered the bus and went to Högbo Bruk in Sandviken.

We were prepared for some hard work, a lecture, conference and group discussions. What we got was so much more... we didn't work that hard at all. In fact, the lecture was quite interesting and the group discussions were fruitful. But, what we didn't expect was the sumptuous three course dinner with the fantastic dessert buffet.

We ate, drank, had a laugh, sang and enjoyed our time together.
I really have great colleagues! I appreciate you all, remember that!
